Research

Founder and coordinator of the Disability and Human Rights Observatory, ISCSP, Universidade de Lisboa, since 2013. The Observatory intends to promote investigation in the area of disability studies in Portugal, and monitor the development of public policies in this sector.

Founding-member and co-coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies (CIEG), ISCSP, Universidade de Lisboa, which was rated Excellent in its last evaluation promoted by FCT and is the only center in Portugal that is specifically dedicated to gender studies.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

  • Member of the core research team of EDE – European Disability Expertise (which follows ANED – Academic Network of European Disability experts, 2011-2019), being responsible for supervising annual updates of the DOTCOM database (2011-2023). She is also the expert from Portugal in this network funded by the European Commission.
  • PI in the project L’accès à la protection sociale des personnes en situation de handicap en Algérie, Tunisie et le Marroc, funded by Handicap Internacional (2015-2016).
  • PI for Portugal in the project The Rights of Children with Disabilities, funded by European Parliament (2014).
